Summer is finally here! After the end-of-school-year frenzy that peaked last week, followed by a little dinner party in our back yard for 30 people from the hubby's office this weekend, I finally had (relatively) little to do this week. Its been blissful. The boys and I have been waking up and hanging around in our pj's for half the morning. I've made "real" breakfasts -- pancakes, waffles, eggs.
And I finally dug into some of the fabric that's been taunting me for weeks now. I did this easy skirt on Monday using some of the Amy Butler Belle fabric. (See it up there in the banner?) Since the boys were having a great time playing together, I cut it out and put it together in about 2 hours. Cute Skirt indeed! Although I usually shy away from elastic waistbands, this one isn't too full and the elastic is only in the back of the skirt so that the front panels have a nice, smooth look. Best of all, it is really, really comfortable.
Next up -- after I finish up some designs for Self-Addressed -- either a bag I've had kicking around in my head, or a little tie back summery shirt.
Hope, when I saw your "home studio" I had no idea of your passion and skill level! I have many varied crafty passions (mosaic, furniture painting, quilting, needlework), but little execution! You go girl!

This is adorable. How easy was it? Do you think a beginner could tackle it? I LOVE it and it would perfect for work.
